Today, we learned how to use clustering as a brainstorming strategy before responding to any writing prompt. Think about today’s practice. How did clustering help you generate ideas, examples, etc for the prompt? What part of the clustering process was most useful to you, and do you think you would use this strategy when planning an AP Lang essay? Explain.

 Prompt Response: Clustering helps generate ideas by connecting subtopics and ideas. It usually starts with the main topic of the essay. A part of clustering that was most useful to me was how easy it is to organize my ideas and think of different examples before writing. I think I would use this strategy when planning an AP Lang essay because it would help me quickly come up with ideas and organize my thoughts before I start writing. It can also help me make sure I have enough ideas to support my argument.

Summary: We learned about what the writing process was and wrote down important information and the steps for it.

Reflection: I learned that the writing process did not just have 2 steps but instead has 5. I also learned what clustering was and how it helps to plan your argument essay.

Today, we learned how writers create a clear line of reasoning by connecting a claim, evidence, commentary, and conclusion. Which part of building an argument is most challenging for you, and why?

 Prompt Response:The part that is most difficult for me is coming up with a claim. I know how to identify the idea that I'd include in my claim I just tend to struggle creating the claim. I could write the body paragraphs first and then the claim. Sometimes I also tend to struggle creating the conclusion without repeating everything I stated in the claim. When I am able to create a claim, everything tends to flow and I get the hang of it. I've always had a difficulty when coming up with creating claims and sometimes conclusions. Summary: We learned what phrases to avoid when creating our claim and also wrote down what we can use as evidence in our readings and what not to use. Reflection: I learned that we should avoid using second person pronouns in paragraphs and should only use them in quotes if necessary. I also learned that if we use news articles or research studies, they should be no more than 10 years ago.

Describe something you will never fully understand

Prompt Response: Something I will never fully understand is why do people get with someone just to lie to them or end up leading them on? Why is it that people start dating at such a young age and believe it's right to lie to their partner just because? I've always wondered about that. I can't say I've experienced it, but I've experienced being with someone and them talking bad about me withh their best friend. To me, it doesn't make sense to do so, like if you don't like your partner anymore, why not leave them? Is it hard just to end your relationship when you feel like you're falling out of love? Personally, I'd prefer leaving someone instead of leading them on until they find out. The feeling of finding out isn't the best, so I wouldn't want to hurt them.
